Mission


The Environment team at CIMA+ in Gatineau is seeking a Biologist with more than 5 years of experience in the fields of natural environment characterization, impact studies and requests for authorization and permits.


The incumbent's main responsibility will be to execute and supervise projects, both for public and private clients, as well as for projects of a diverse (transportation, industrial, etc.) and multidisciplinary nature.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct characterization studies on the natural environment and environmental impact studies, and prepare requests for authorizations and permits for largescale projects related to various types of environments
  • Supervise and possibly conduct floristic and wildlife inventories and delimitation of natural environments, as required;
  • Draft impact assessment reports, ecological studies and environmental specifications, along with other technical reports c
  • Act as a biological and botanical expert for CIMA+ projects in dealing with internal and external clients
  • Prepare and monitor requests for environmental permits and authorizations from government agencies
  • Working in partnership with our Geomatics department in Montréal, produce and analyze geomatic data related to the environment (Map Info, ArcGis, CAD)
  • Oversee and provide support for the human and material resources allocated to projects
  • Ensure compliance with project budgets and schedules
  • Oversee and take part in the preparation of proposals (strategy, work plan, client meeting, budget, etc.), and assist in business development for the department

Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Biology or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency of inventory techniques
  • Familiarity with applicable municipal, provincial and federal regulatory frameworks
  • Project management skills (managing personnel, scheduling, budgeting, etc.)
  • Experience with requests for municipal, provincial and federal permits and authorizations
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Solid proficiency in French and excellent writing and communication skills
