Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $82,217 to $121,155 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions.

The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

What can I expect to do in this role?In this role, you will:

  • Provide project leadership and coordination for program planning, design, and implementation.
  • Lead or contribute to project teams, conducting planning, development, and issue resolution.
  • Identify project requirements, negotiate resources, and monitor progress and standards adherence.
  • Conduct evidence-based research and analysis for program development, including cost-benefit and risk analyses.
  • Offer consultative advice on long-term care initiatives and program design.
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders to determine priorities and facilitate productive working relationships.
  • Participate in strategic direction development and provides advice to influence decision-making within and outside the ministry.
How do I qualify?Project Management and

Technical Skills:

  • You can lead and coordinate projects for the research and analysis of new and existing policies/programs such as funding models and service delivery options.
  • You can provide project planning and leadership on concurrent projects while managing deadlines and competing priorities.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have proven oral and written communications to communicate strategic, operational policy, and program initiatives and decisions.
  • You can respond to issues, develop and present operational policy and program recommendations, prepare reports, options papers, socio-economic analyses, submissions, briefing materials and correspondence using standard software programs and tools.
Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • You can identify options for continuous improvement of program efficiency and effectiveness in meeting long term care sector needs and financial management.
  • You can analyse trends and directions to evaluate existing services/programs and delivery models.
  • You can lead and plan the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative information.
  • You have the ability to interpret and apply established policies to review, coordinate, and interpret data and draft recommendations.
Consultation and Negotiation Skills:

  • You have consultation, facilitation, partnership building and relationship management skills to establish key stakeholder linkages.
  • You can build consensus and negotiate the coordination of policy and program initiatives among other ministries and inter-jurisdictional stakeholders.
Health Care and Policy Knowledge:

  • You have knowledge of broad socio-economic issues impacting provincial health care, relevant legislation, and strategic directions of the models of health care delivery, funding, governance and related critical issues.
  • You have knowledge of policy/program analysis and development principles and techniques to lead and/or coordinate the development of provincial operational policies and programs and provide recommendations for change.
