The QA Engineer collaborates with the Product Management and Development teams to create valid test cases for functional changes. They are responsible for executing test cases and communicating results. The product being tested combines hardware and software capabilities, requiring the QA Engineer to oversee tests in both areas.

Hands-on hardware configuration and management are crucial, along with engaging with Product User Interfaces. Besides spearheading test cases from inception to completion, the QA Engineer partners with the Systems Engineering and Client Support teams to address advanced client issues and verify client-specific setups and requests.

An ideal candidate will possess a strong QA background and a keen interest in audiovisual technology.

  • Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with Product Management to devise valid test cases for web software and audio-visual hardware.
    • Execute test cases and communicate results.
    • Cooperate with automation team members to streamline manual tasks in the future.
    • Establish and manage hardware test environments for Haivision products.
    • Investigate client support escalations, documenting bugs as necessary.
    • Work with the Product Management team to grasp hardware modifications on the product roadmap and offer input on testing strategies.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, like engineering or computer science, is preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or a relevant technical field.
    • Knowledge of Real-time transport protocols (RTP, MPEG2-TS, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, and HDS) and Session protocols like SIP.
    • Familiarity with analog and digital audiovisual standards and compression technologies such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4/H.264, and HEVC.
    • Understanding of audio-visual equipment and technologies, including display walls, sound systems, video conferencing solutions, and control systems.
    • Proficiency in AV cabling, connectors, and signal flow.
    • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to AV systems.
    • Comprehension of networking principles and protocols.
    • Knowledge of Windows security best practices.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages, like PowerShell.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with Issue & Project Tracking Software (Jira).
