Overview:
The goals of this CMBC EAM project are to re-implement EAM in the cloud, employ mobile technologies, and review and re-engineer the associated business processes to align with industry best practices. The focus for the Key Improvements workstream (project) is to introduce key business processes identified by the business (CMBC) in EAM in the cloud.

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Company's Manager, Software QA, the candidate will provide quality assurance analysis services including all aspects of Software QA and Testing including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Review of background material to understand the work purpose and objectives, documented requirements, and/or User Stories;
  • Working closely with the project team, product owners, and various stakeholders to quickly develop an overall QA/Test Strategy and Product Test Plan;
  • Maintain Test Plans; Design, develop, and update Test Cases, Test Scenarios and automated Test Scripts based on requirements for System Integration, Functional, Regression, Performance Testing, and User Acceptance Testing;
  • Proactively collaborate with the project team and communicate with stakeholders to ensure project efforts proceed efficiently;
  • Participate in the identification of project risks, and in mitigating technical, schedule and other project risks;
  • Prepare test data and the setup of the test environment;
  • Create, update and execute automated Test Cases and Test Scenarios;
  • Manage and monitor tests and test results;
  • Develop and maintain Test Issues/Defects Log(s);
  • Track defects and deficiencies for submission, review, triage, and resolution;
  • Provide regular and ad hoc status reports (formal and informal) related to the QA work and progress with results analysis;
  • As product/system knowledge is developed, participate in user feedback and training sessions as required, potentially contributing to the development of knowledge transfer and training material;
  • Follow the Agile methodology for product testing; Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA processes and practices that support and increase application testability, defect prevention, and early detection of defects;
  • Participate in all other related project work as defined by the Team Lead or manager.

Deliverables
QA/Testing deliverables and supporting documentation will be expected. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • A document outlining the preferred approach, automation strategy, and plan for QA and testing of the Product;
  • Test Plans, Roadmap, Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Test Scripts;
  • Defect and Issue logs/records;
  • QA status reports, test results, graphs and metrics for all types of testing;
  • Training material including video/audio records, Wiki pages;
  • All work products stemming from the services performed as described in the Services section above.

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of recent and hands-on experience in application testing.
  • Good in identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in developing test cases/scripts.
  • In-depth understanding of QA process and testing using the Agile/DevOps methodology.
  • Experience with large enterprise-level applications, such as ERP, Finance, HR, CSM, and Asset Management systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in one of the programming/scripting languages, such as Python, C#, F#, and Java is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a Unionized environment – exposure to Union organizations such as CUPE, COPE, and CAW/Unifor is considered an asset.
