Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):

  • To instruct courses in the Bachelor of Applied Management program and business courses in related certificate and diploma programs as required

Courses may include:
Law and Ethics, Construction Business Strategies, Leadership Fundamentals, Strategic Business Management. and Economics.

  • Provide instruction to students enrolled in Business programs.
  • Design and implement a student-centered classroom using an outcome-based approach.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs such as adult learning principles.
  • Develop new curriculum as needed.
  • Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
  • Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  • Attend program and school meetings.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • 1.Master's degree in leadership, business, a businessrelated field, education, or adult education is required. If the master's degree is in education or adult education, an undergraduate degree in business, commerce, or administration will be required. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
  • Recent/relevant experience - 2 years within the last 5 years - including industry experience and current knowledge of program content.
  • Successful experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating services for students in an adult education environment.
  • Demonstrated administrative, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Training and/or demonstrated experience managing budgets and allocating resources within established guidelines.
  • Ability to provide leadership.
  • Ability to work as a team member and foster teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and public relations skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
