What you will do

How you will do it

  • Receive, update, and complete assigned preventative and demand maintenance works orders within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) "QFM"
  • Respond to and rectify assigned tasks in general facility services, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry
  • Source, plan, and organize required tools and materials for daytoday tasks and projects
  • Use building prints, schematics, and other available documents while troubleshooting system failures and work requests
  • Working knowledge of building systems with an ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machines
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and complies with all company policies
  • Other duties as required

What we look for

_Required _

  • Completion of a twoyear technical degree or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in a Facility Maintenance environment. Willing to consider other combinations of experience and qualifications
  • Working and operating knowledge of building systems, troubleshooting, repair and replacement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently on tasks and as part of a team
  • Working and operating knowledge of computers as well as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, word, excel)
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes the ability to: climb ladders, operate machinery, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts (including night shifts), weekends, and holidays on a rotational shift schedule
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

_Preferred _

  • Experience working in a health care setting is an asset
  • Education in Building Environment Systems I and II is an asset
  • Experience with Life Safety systems (fire panels, duress stations) is an asset
