The Position

The Financial Wellness Partner administers consumer proposal files, analyzes, and resolves various proposal matters in a proactive manner utilizing established department procedures while understanding the impact of the job on affected accounts and affected functional areas.

Interaction with Debtors and other team members is required frequently to carry out the duties of this role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Adhere to BIA and OSB Directives relating to the administration of Proposals regarding compliance of filing/reporting deadlines.
  • Document all Proposal Administration information according to BSI's Best Practices and guidelines.
  • Utilize the Proposal Administration dashboards to review estate files, track client performance, completion and readiness for discharge or annulment.
  • Monitor clients' payment performance and follows up on any Non-Sufficient Funds (NSFs), arrears, late or missed payments.
  • Process Debtor's information by using applicable insolvency software.
  • Follow due diligence i.e. verify all information in compliance to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) and Privacy Act
  • Deliver quality and timely general administration service on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Schedule required tasks in an operationally structured environment.
  • Work within a team setting (independently and collaboratively).
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose and recommend solutions within the context of established rules and procedures.
  • Use specific guidelines to make decisions and seeks Estate Manager's input when dealing with ambiguity or complex issues (i.e. highrisk assets).
  • Process the Debtor's information by using applicable insolvency software.
  • Prepare the Debtor's file with quality per documented BSI Best Practice for monitoring/administration of the estate.
  • In the event of annulled Proposal, to contact the Debtor and discuss available options.
  • Provide and receives information from a variety of stakeholders i.e. Debtors, Creditors, Trustee, OSB.
  • Model and promote BSI's organizational culture, purpose, and values.
  • Champion and foster a climate of diversity and inclusion.
  • Use individual and team efforts to manage and improve internal and external relationships.

Education, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field
  • Completion or working towards Insolvency Administrators Qualification Course
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience in a financial service environment; either in Insolvency, Finance, Credit Counseling or Legal areas
  • Understanding or ability to learn quickly regarding legislation such as the BIA
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Working knowledge of an Insolvency software or industry specific software
