Technical Lead, Perimeter Defense Security Engineering, Brampton, ON

In this role, you will lead a team of self-motivated and well-respected team members, driving the strategic direction of Perimeter Defense Security Engineering and protecting external facing entities.

You will be required to oversee daily operations and governance of critical security controls. Ideally you are a Security Engineer who has moved to a Technical Lead role.

In this senior role, the ideal candidate has passion to collaborate with security, application and infrastructure teams (compliance, risk, architecture and operations) to provide updates and knowledge on all perimeter security activities across Loblaw Technology.

Evolve security engineering procedures, develop use cases and documentation to establish outstanding capabilities for detection, response and remediation.

You will work with Security technology and infrastructure vendor partners to improve the maturity of existing platforms, explore new technologies, conduct research and testing.

Leverage security technology vendor relationships, contacts and experience to help lead, build and maintain the technical currency to react swiftly and contain cyber threats.

Your deep understanding of edge protection security tools, technologies, security threats, tactics, techniques and procedures used by threat actors, security and enterprise level Information Technology Engineering, operations, processes and incident management, will help you be successful.

Progressive experience in administration/management & governance of Perimeter Security technologies, focusing on Firewall, Web & Mobile Application Defense including Web Application Firewall and Bot Mitigation Policy
Continuous improvement and optimization of technologies in this field
Any of the following are considered an asset:
Scripting knowledge (Powershell, Bash, Python)
Information security certifications are an asset
