Wage:
Salary scale for a Language Teacher III starts at $83,421 (as of May 1, 2023).

Salary scale for a Language Teacher IV starts at $92,280 (as of May 1, 2023).

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in the theoretical and practical aspects of language pedagogy with a specialization in curriculum design for English language education.
  • Demonstrated engagement in scholarly and professional activities that can support the design and oversight of the curriculum for programs of study at OLBI as well as crossdisciplinary initiatives linked to internationalization, universitylevel immersion, English language development, and the promotion of Francophonie and bilingualism.
  • Graduate degree in applied linguistics, second/foreignlanguage acquisition or a related field.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching at a postsecondary institution (with a minimum 2 years of experience).
  • Experience working in a researchfocused environment and a record of scholarly work and materials development.
  • Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively and with diverse populations.
  • At the time of tenure, professors are expected to have the ability to function in a bilingual setting and to achieve active bilingualism in both official languages. English-French bilingualism is thus an asset.
