Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?GRM Risk & Controls Group is responsible for leading the control management & evaluation center of expertise for stakeholders across RBC and its US legal entities, focusing on GRM and Corporate Functions owned controls. The team consists of staff in the US, Canada, and Malaysia. The Associate Director (AD) will oversee the RCG's control evaluation program and act as an expert to advise stakeholders on establishing an effective control environment. This role will manage the relationship between the control evaluation team in Malaysia and stakeholders in US and Canada, collaborating with Operational Risk colleagues to integrate control evaluation into the broader risk management program.What will you do?
  • Manage and oversee control evaluation activities to assess key controls' effectiveness.
  • Create testing modules and guides for evaluating Key Controls to mitigate risk exposures.
  • Document control testing thoroughly and review commentary.
  • Analyze and communicate results/recommendations from control evaluation activities.
  • Mentor Malaysia-based control evaluation resources.
  • Contribute to defining and improving the control evaluation model for RCG to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain relationships with control evaluation stakeholders in the US.
  • Provide internal controls training to enhance the program's effectiveness.
Must-have:
  • 5+ years of experience in controls evaluation, risk management, internal audit, or similar roles in financial services.
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in regulated financial environments.
  • Familiarity with US regulatory requirements and financial products.
  • University degree or equivalent qualifications.
Nice-to-have:
  • Additional certifications such as CA, FRM, or CPA are advantageous.
