Broad Purpose:

Provides a safe, comfortable operating environment by directing installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, equipment and utility systems.

What you will be doing:

Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, and production personnel, trades persons, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements. Achieves financial objectives by working within an annual maintenance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Ensures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment. Scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Supports product development and improvement by conferring with management reviewing new product plans; discussing equipment needs and modifications with design engineers; coordinating activities of technicians and workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools or equipment. Provides heat, steam, electric power, gas, and air by directing installation of, modifications to and maintenance activities on utility systems. Designs, implements, and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics, inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards. Directs maintenance operations by initiating coordinating, and enforcing program, operation, and personnel policies and procedures. Resolves maintenance problems by conferring with management, engineering, and quality control personnel. Protects employees and visitors by enforcing Health and Safety legislation and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Maintains maintenance staff job results by orienting and training employees, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, other duties and projects as assigned. Back-up for the position is the Maintenance Supervisor from alternate departments/plants when required or as designated by the Maintenance Manager. All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

What you will bring to the table:

3 to 5+ years supervisory experience in maintenance position Certified Trades License or post secondary degree/ diploma in a technical discipline. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing equipment and services 5+ years manufacturing experience preferably in paper packaging industry Excellent communications and interpersonal skills Math skills for and financial control through budgets reports

Working Conditions:

Constant exposure to noise, heat, humidity in the plant environment. Provide support to on-call mechanics on all shifts-sometimes in-person . Weekend works required.

Physical Demands:

Moderate mental concentration for computer work, to produce required reports and recommendations Standing, walking, lifting
