Recreation also offers experiential experiences for students through our many leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Intramural Sports Team Leader position serves as part of a student leadership team that is responsible for the successful operation of the Intramural Sports program as a whole, with primary focus on management and development of their staff (Intramural Sports Convenors).

The Intramural Sports Team Leader's performance is measured by their ability to build a staff team capable of delivering a high quality, safe, inclusive and fun-first sport experience.

The Intramural Sports Team Leader will be a key contributor to cultivating a sense of community amongst team members and students that is supportive of building a thriving and equitable campus.

This role will support the University's mission to build an equitable and thriving campus by fostering inclusivity and ensuring the space and games held in those spaces meet the holistic needs of the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with coordination and promotion of all Intramural sport leagues, activities, tournaments and special events.
• Responsible for supervising, training, assisting and evaluating all Intramural Convenors and Intramural Officials.
• Responsible for preparing and attending all captain's meetings for all intramural sport leagues, activities, tournaments and special events.
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining and training Intramural Convenors and Intramural Officials for IMLeagues, iwork and social media.
• Responsible for assisting and attending suspension appeals.
• Work in cooperation with the Intramural Coordinator, Intramural Team Leaders and Intramural Convenors.
