Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.


SUMMARY
The Project Controls Administrator is responsible for financial/contractual/project management support and coordination to multiple, complex technical projects. Assist project teams with cost code maintenance, financial accruals, and productivity analysis.

Based out of the home office, responsibilities will also include the audit of internal processes to insure they are understood and followed, as well as the regular upkeep of the financial/tracking systems.

JOB DUTIES

  • Audit project controls/field engineering personnel in use of best practices and Primoris procedures/systems.
  • Import files into financial system to support project teams with cost code creation, accruals, and reclasses.
  • Assist with the coordination of small projects, including LEM processes, material ordering and tracking, as well as cost tracking and report generation.
  • Reconcile actual costs against project forecast and budget.
  • Review and insure accurate coding and tracking of vendor packing slips/invoicing.
  • Prepare project accruals and client invoicing when supporting small projects.
  • Liaise with Accounts Receivable/Payable, Subcontract, and Procurement team members
  • Review and approve project requisitions; verify cost coding, descriptions, estimated costs, and backup documentation.
  • Assist project teams in completing project shift/cost reports including budgets, change orders, cost incurred, EAC, and ETC as needed.
  • Prepare various spreadsheet reports for project management.
  • Prepare internal cost reports for management on a monthly basis.
  • Communicate and advise project team on cost projections.
  • Review subcontractor daily Tickets & LEM's, verifies client approvals.
  • Compile project subcontractor/vendor cost and manhour data in reporting logs.
  • Organize and maintain project reporting files.
  • Review open commitments reports.
  • Participate with project teams in close out activities.
  • Develop final reports and communicate with subcontractors/vendors for final invoicing.
  • Various other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in finance or project controls within a large global company
  • 1+ years working within the engineering and construction services industry

SKILLS

  • Able to interact with all levels of management.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Basic knowledge of project controls/finance principles.
  • Willness to perform some repetitive data entry tasks.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office products
  • Strong knowledge of necessary software systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of software system capabilities and functionality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in developing policy and procedure documentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction and engineering services is preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable situations with limited standardization.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
