Oracle Database Administrator

Our team of 800 employees supports Corporate and Investment Banks, Asset Management Companies, Insurance, and Corporate for their projects in SI transformation, technology innovation, financial engineering, and regulatory implementation.

We are hiring a bilingual Oracle Database Administrator to work with one of our clients based in Montreal.

Your mission will be to provide reliable IT services by providing offers, service levels, and optimized costs that meet the needs of their internal clients; such as hosting business applications, workstations, collaborative services, networks, and telephony.

The Databases Administration Department (DBA) provides hosting services and expertise to all main database technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase, Postgres, Bigdata ...).

In that context, they are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator with DevOps skills to integrate the team to provide support for existing infrastructure, assist our clients in their database-related projects and participate in building automation tools and APIs.

Installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of databases
Responsible for database health, resiliency, performance tuning and optimization, operational control procedures, support, and inventory.
Work closely with developers and application production support to provide technical help

Participate in On-call, handle alerts and escalations during business hours and off-hours, including weekends and Holidays on a rotational basis.

Set up and maintain Database backup and recovery procedures.
Provide technical documentation.
Support and implement database changes, ensuring the quality of the changes.
Perform capacity planning for the databases.
Implement and help other team members with group/team strategy.

Oracle 11g, 12C, 19C
~ RAC, ASM, DataGuard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager
~ Unix shell scripting
~ Linux Operating system
~ Windows server operating systems basics
~ Advanced Python Knowledge
~ Unix shell scripting
~ Knowledge of Agile Methodology
~ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
~ Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to present and explain technical information
~ Database management experience, including installation, maintenance and migration/upgrades, and database refreshes.
~ Database architectural knowledge
~8+ years hands-on experience On Oracle (19c, 12c, 11g) databases on Sun Unix or Linux
~Experience handling large databases
~ Experience with the Oracle Optimizer plans and hints.
~ Experience with building automation tools or APIs using Python.
~ Experience with shell scripting and Linux scripts development

Certification in Database administration is a plus
Oracle EXADATA management

Languages:
