About the role

As the Assistant Site Superintendent reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will assist in overseeing construction projects. Your aim is to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key duties include supervising team members, collaborating with different trades, and ensuring clear communication. The ideal candidate thrives in team environments and demonstrates strong leadership qualities. This role involves transforming a 188-unit building into residential and commercial units.

Responsibilities

  • Support in managing day-to-day on-site operations to achieve project objectives and deadlines
  • Provide progress updates and communicate any issues to the Site Superintendent and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Work closely with Site Superintendent to devise and execute solutions when required
  • Aid in scheduling work, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Maintain records of daily activities, progress updates, and alterations in project scope
  • Supervise laborers and subcontractors, offering guidance and assistance as needed
  • Assist Site Superintendent in overseeing project budgets and resources
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety protocols
  • Ensure construction work meets or exceeds quality standards

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in construction renovations
  • Prior experience in a construction foreman or similar role is advantageous
  • High school diploma
  • Preferably, post-secondary education in construction or related trades
  • Familiarity with local Health & Safety Laws
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Must possess appropriate PPE (steel toe boots, vest & hardhat)
