MUST be located in either Portland or near Portland, OR WA state or Vancouver, British Columbia; this position will be required to report in office on a hybrid schedule.


The key objective for this role is to optimize inventory availability and execute against business growth plans, customer needs and forecast inventory requirements based on historical, cyclical, environment and future forecasted needs.


Key Responsibilities:

Buyer Duties:

  • Monthly review of inventory requirements for a wide portfolio of footwear products.
  • Develop purchase order based on demand planning and forecasted requirements.
  • Providing regular forecasts of future ordering requirements to vendors.
  • Daily correspondence with our international suppliers.
  • Produce both weekly and monthly reports for management and sales teams on inventory levels.
  • Setting up new vendors and products on our ERP system.
  • Costing of shipments.
  • Processing invoices for payment.

Demand Planning Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with President of Footwear Division and Sales teams to create and manage seasonal and yearly demand plans to meet business and departmental goals, metrics for forecast accuracy and planning data integrity.
  • Analyze historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Work closely with other Supply Chain teams on the monitoring/tracking of various demand planning factors that impacts product availability.
  • Communicate forecast, including risks, uncertainty, and assumptions to incorporate impacting factors and to identify trends, performance, and concerns.
  • Participate in Sales, Product Development and Supply Chain meetings to stay abreast of business changes/requirements.
  • Summarize and report relevant data to the management team. Participate in the preparation of executive level information.
  • Streamline and build efficiencies into the planning process. Collaborate with peers in developing best practices and strategy.
  • Coordinate with all necessary internal departments to ensure that production timelines and deliveries are achieved.
  • Foster positive, productive, proactive relationships with a wide variety of cross functional partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite with focus on Excel user skills.
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Solid problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities.
  • Detailed oriented and logical individual with the ability to make objective business decisions in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong listening ability.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Customer service oriented with a sense of priority and purpose.
  • A genuine desire to embrace new digital technologies.
