Exam Room Assistant(Veterinary Assistant)

Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to animals? Do you thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment? Edwards Veterinary Services is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Exam Room Assistant.

This is a full-time position with a well-established multi doctor practice located in Tillsonburg, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies.
• Greet clients and their pets, escort them to examination rooms, and obtain necessary information.
• Record and maintain accurate and detailed medical histories and observations.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and comfortably during procedures.
• Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and preparation.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment and instruments.
• Provide postoperative care and instructions to pet owners.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and updating client records.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle animals with care, patience, and compassion.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and basic medical terminology.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends

Schedule:

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:00 am 5:00 pm
• Tuesday: 8:00 am 7:00 pm
• Saturday: 8:00 am 1:00 pm
