Project Officer:

Primary Purpose:

Proved high level support across the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre and the TLSE portfolio on projects and assignments related to Indigenous engagement goals for the University of Saskatchewan.


Nature of Work:

Reporting to the Senior Director Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre, this position works in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

The position is required to provide support and maintain positive relationships and interactions with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including staff, faculty, students, administration, and community partners.

The work is of high volume, requires decision making and multi-tasking as the incumbent will be supporting multiple projects. The incumbent is required to work within a team environment as well as independently.

Typical Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Effectively supports projects and assignments related to the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre.
  • Leads and maintains welcoming space for students, staff, faculty and community partners
  • Effectively manages internal and external team communications.
  • Ensures documents, reports, and briefing notes are carefully prepared, revised, and compiled.
  • Effectively monitors ongoing costs and commitments.
  • Ensures responses to requests for information from stakeholders.
  • Maintains general administrative functions within Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre.
  • Manages a fully integrated documentation management system.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships across the university campus and with external partners.
  • Supports the events of the centre
  • Supports the space administration of the facility

Qualifications

Education:
A bachelor degree in a relevant field as it pertains to this position is preferred. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Experience:
Experience coordinating and supporting projects is required. A high degree of understanding of the University's dynamic environment, policies, and procedures would be considered an asset. Experience in establishing productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including indigenous people, communities, and organizations.
