GFL Environmental is searching for a new Fleet Supervisor to join their team.

As the Fleet Supervisor, you will oversee a team of technicians responsible for safely operating, repairing, and maintaining GFL Environmental's commercial diesel and alternative fuel trucks and heavy equipment under the guidance of the Fleet Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily planning and scheduling of repair work to maximize productivity.
• Review mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules.
• Assist with inventory control and approve expenses within the set budget.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and lead daily shop huddles and fleet walks.
• Ensure maintenance shop cleanliness and safety, and travel as needed to oversee operations.
• Perform other assigned job-related duties.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License.
• One or more years of lead technician or supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of tools for vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Ability to follow schedules and technical manuals, and communicate effectively across all levels.
• Experience with diagnostic software is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions:

The job involves working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

• Moderate physical activities including heavy lifting, bending, and working with moving machinery.
• Wearing personal protective equipment and being exposed to various chemicals and exhaust fumes.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
