Assessment accommodation

Duties:

Conducts scientific analysis and investigations for diagnostic and testing purposes.

Contributes to the development and validation of new analytical methods and laboratory practices.

Collects, analyses and interprets data for, and authorizes results to CFIA employees, other government organizations and private sector organizations.


Produces scientific data, reports and information on laboratory methods and practices and aids in the preparation and/or delivery of results in the form of presentations, reports, and/or papers to colleagues, management and/or clients.

Provides technical and procedural guidance, training and troubleshooting to laboratory staff on testing methods and procedures.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

EEd1:

A bachelor's degree in a natural, physical or applied science from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in a scientific field relevant to the duties of the position.
