Overview:We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials in a safe and timely manner, ensuring all deliveries are made according to schedule, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Location; Burnaby, BCSalary:$26 Per HourHours: 6am to 4pm
Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and Unload Cargo: Efficiently load and unload goods onto the truck, ensuring items are secure and protected from damage.
  • Transport Goods: Drive the box truck to various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
  • Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, considering traffic and weather conditions.
  • Inspect Vehicle: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Adhere to Safety Regulations: Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies. Ensure the truck is operated in a safe manner at all times.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents. Complete all required paperwork.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Address any delivery issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Perform Basic Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure the truck is clean and well-maintained.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. A commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required, depending on the size and weight of the truck.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a box truck driver or in a similar driving role. Familiarity with using GPS and other navigation systems.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Understanding of federal and state transportation laws and regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic delays or mechanical issues, in a calm and efficient manner.
