What can I expect to do in this role?: In this position, you will:

  • Lead the examination and analysis of complex planning proposals (e.g., planning justification reports) and recommendations, prepares recommended modifications and decisions
  • Identify problems/concerns with existing programs or legislation and recommending changes or improvements in program structure/delivery
  • Prepare, present, lead and participate in meetings, seminars, workshops and educational sessions on matters
  • Provide guidance and advice over municipal planning processes and the development of municipal official plans and zoning bylaws

How do I qualify?:

Mandatory:
You require a requires a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license to drive to municipal meetings, seminars, conferences.

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

  • You have land use planning experience with demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario planning system, related legislation, policies, and Ontario government priorities, policy development and decisionmaking processes.
  • You have proven leadership, organization and project management skills to participate in and/or lead multidisciplinary teams and multiple projects.

Research and Analytical Skills:

  • You have demonstrated research skills to undertake complex studies; analyze information and develop models related to a range of planning activities, such as environmental, land use and social planning matters.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have experience performing analyses and preparing reports using word processing, data management and spreadsheet software.
