As a Health and Safety Assistant working in the Health & Safety department at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in supporting the project team(s) with key health and safety administrative tasks.

Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will support the maintenance of health and safety documentation and assist with the coordination of resources.


What You Will Do

  • Proactively communicate and maintain open lines of communication when working with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients, providing exceptional client service.
  • Take pride in using and maintaining our innovative internal technology systems to maintain health and safety documentation.
  • Assist with organizing and planning Health, Safety, and Environment (SSE) training.
  • Diligently assist with key documentation and drafting of health and safety documents.
  • You are a stickler for detail and consistently ensure that key information is updated and distributed accordingly.
  • Utilize your passion for organization through the maintenance of project files, documents and training records.
  • Proactively follow up on health and safety inspections and the coordination of HSE equipment.
  • Take charge of communicating continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring health and safety is a way of life on our construction sites.

This role could be for you if you have

  • Certificate or diploma in Health & Safety;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry;
  • Strong working experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) in a professional environment;
  • Excellent organizational skills, precision, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and prioritization management;
