We are currently seeking a part-time driver based out of our Shelburne, NS location.

Company Highlights:

Day shifts, Monday to Friday (with an early morning start time)Occasional variation from schedule may be required to meet contractual obligation and holiday schedulesCompetitive compensation, benefits package available after three months continuous employmentThe chance to work with a stable, growing company with numerous divisions across Eastern Canada.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive and load truck safely and efficiently on assigned routes according to contractual requirementsEnsure routes are completed in a timely and secure mannerResponsible for daily pre and post-trip inspections of truckLoad and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditionsMaintain radio contact with team and supervisor to receive instructions and report any issues on route or with the vehicle.Immediately report any driving infractions and suspensionsBe aware of your surroundings at all timesEnsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskProtect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilitiesEnsure the safety of fellow employeesPerform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

Valid commercial driver's license with acceptable driver abstractMinimum Class 3 LicenseWillingness to work in a team environmentAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible mannerComply with all safety policies and proceduresAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properlyStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Previous waste and or recycling experience is considered an asset but not necessary
