As a Business Analyst (Technical), you will be responsible for analyzing business needs and specifying functional and non-functional requirements for the web development team.

You will work closely with the Product Owner(s) to understand user needs and translate these needs into clear and understandable requirements for the development team.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to an international project that will be built on a modern architecture to deliver a high performance user experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze business and enduser needs to ensure that functional requirements are clearly specified and aligned with project objectives
  • Specify functional and nonfunctional requirements and document requirements using diagrams, schematics and written specifications;
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that requirements are properly understood and implemented;
  • Facilitate communication between the Product Owner(s) and the development team to ensure that the functional requirements meet the business needs;
  • Assist the Product Owner(s) in formalizing and prioritizing their User Stories;
  • Monitor the progress of developments and ensure that the project objectives are met;
  • Participate in the development and execution of tests at all levels (functional, integrated and acceptance);
  • Collaborate on the change management strategy for the projects in which he/she participates (e.g. design and conduct user training);
  • Resolve conflicts and issues related to requirements and development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, marketing or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience as a business analyst in an agile environment;
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence (an asset);
  • Experience with Sitecore (an asset);
  • Experience with Coveo (an asset);
  • Experience in the education field (an asset);
  • Certification (CBAP, CCBA, AAC or PMI-PBA) (an asset).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with stakeholders, end users and the development team;
  • Data analysis and systems specification skills to transform business requirements into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements;

  • An articulate individual with excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and deductive skills;
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail;
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with business partners;
  • Ability to facilitate meetings or work sessions;

  • Ability to coach developers in the realization of features;
  • Ability to write, conduct and coordinate functional and acceptance testing;
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and changes to be made (processes, tools, documentation, etc.) in a spirit of continuous improvement.
