Who are we?


LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is a first of its kind medical fitness clinic that bridges the gap between traditional gyms and hospital-based rehabilitation.

We were founded in Vancouver, BC in 2011 and have grown to have 16 locations across Canada with new locations opening all the time.

We see people for prevention of chronic diseases as well as for treatment and maintenance of musculoskeletal concerns. Our members come in all ages and sizes with the common goal of living healthier lives.

We are looking for compassionate, energetic exercise professionals to join our team.

Because our staff work so closely with our members, we are looking for naturally caring people who have great interpersonal skills and who are passionate about working with people with a range of health issues.

They are life-long learners who enjoy putting their knowledge to use and love getting creative help members overcome their barriers to success.

This position would allow you to work and thrive under our lead kinesiologist, improve your exercise prescription skills and gain experience working with individuals with chronic disease.


Your responsibilities in this job?

  • Exercise prescription for members with chronic health conditions or chronic injuries.
  • Working with other kinesiologists to deliver a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
  • Supervising small group training sessions.
  • Collecting vital measurements such as blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugars.
  • Using coaching skills to help members set goals and achieve success.
  • Smiling, laughing, and genuinely having fun with your coworkers and members
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with chronic diseases (cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer, respiratory, obesity, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with musculoskeletal concerns (tendinopathies, joint replacements, chronic pain/injuries, fibromyalgia, etc.).
  • Strong exercise prescription skills with individuals aged 50+.
  • Motivational interviewing and health coaching experience.


 Selfdirected learning ability
  • We work with members with a large variety of concerns. We don't expect you to be an expert at all of them, but you need to have the ability to learn to prescribe safe and effective exercises for all members.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. You need to be able to connect with all members and make exercise sessions fun.

What qualifications do you need?

  • Personal training certification or registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario is required.
  • Must carry valid liability insurance
  • Valid CPR/AED and first aid certification.
  • Kinesiology degree an asset
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to workflow.
  • A desire to add your expertise and energy to a young, fun, and fastgrowing new healthcare company.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs., standing/walking for 5 straight hours, demonstrating exercises, cleaning tasks.

Compensation Structure:

$17-19/hr

Hours

  • Monday, Wednesday 7:30am2:30pm. Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am3:30pm. Hours may vary, but not to exceed 30 hours.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 24 per week

Salary:
$17.00-$19.00 per hour
