Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing communication plans and public affairs strategies in various institutional and organizational contexts.

The incumbent will support government relations and act as a crisis manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement multichannel communications plans, contributing to the organization's outreach, reputation and brand image;
  • Advise the President, the executive team, regional branches and other stakeholders and implement positioning strategies in terms of communications and government relations;
  • Write, adapt and revise various tools related to external communications and media relations, advocacy files, strategic documents, official correspondence intended for government bodies and other stakeholders (speeches, opinion letters, interview plans, publications for social media, press releases, etc.);
  • Manage speaking opportunities and support official spokespersons in their role;
  • Manage communications related to the organization's awards and honors;
  • Engage with the media to enhance public understanding of the organization's activities and strategic objectives;
  • Conduct strategic intelligence, assess opportunities and trends, and make recommendations regarding positioning opportunities;
  • Evaluate results of various initiatives and adjust objectives and activities;
  • Collaborate with marketing managers to ensure overall harmonization of communications.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in public relations, communications, or any relevant field;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position or in a relevant field;
  • Advanced writing, presentation and strategic skills;
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English (and Spanish, an asset);
  • Good knowledge of social networking;
  • Comfortable with various government communication protocols;
  • Good knowledge of technological environments and commonly used software (MS Office 365 suite).
