Purpose:


As the Team Lead, you will lead the Marketing Accounting team which is primarily responsible for the accounting of Marketing deals and transactions, tracking value-add initiatives and credit exposures and contract administration.


Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of three fulltime employees and two consultants
  • Actualization and invoicing of monthly NGL, Gas and Crude volumes and validation of pricing on third party purchaser statements
  • Timely and accurate calculation of monthly pool prices, balancing transportation costs and providing revenue statements to internal Production & Royalty Accountants for monthly reporting
  • Analysis of pricing, tariff and equalization costs allocated by pipelines and thirdparty purchasers with followup on discrepancies
  • Preparation of monthly Marketing and Credit Exposure report for Executive signoff in accordance with the Counterparty Credit and Risk Management Policy
  • Daily monitoring of counterparty valuations to ensure exposures are within assigned credit limits and calculate monthly estimates for LC and prepay coverage
  • Provide price and volumetric information to Operations and Financial Accountants for monthly accruals
  • Confirm prices with various counterparties
  • Application owner for Horizon (latest version of Allegro Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) System)
  • Handle internal and external audit inquiries
  • Track Value-Add from Marketing Commerical and Transportation Activities
  • Prepare the annual Enhanced Valuation Audit Program (EVAP) declaration for submission to the Saskatchewan government
  • Liaise extensively with Production Accounting, Credit and Risk, Treasury, and Marketing Commercial/Operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to balance several internal and external deadlines and transition between forward and current month responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Accounting or business degree is required
  • Accounting designation would be considered an asset
  • Over 10 years of oil and gas accounting experience with a minimum of 5 years of direct Marketing Accounting
  • Experience with ETRM systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Petrotranz
