has an excellent opportunity in our Small, Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit. Currently, we are seeking a Commercial Auto Underwriter to join our team at the Ottawa Branch.

What You'll Do:

  • Assess and evaluate the risk for new and existing business (Fleet, Garage)
  • Analyze reports to resolve adequate exposure and loss ratings.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.
  • Manage and negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business.
  • Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with brokers to develop new businesses.
  • Build and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolios.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

What You'll Bring:

  • 1+ year of commercial Auto underwriting (Fleet, Garage) experience.
  • CIP is a strong asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and administration skills.
  • Highly motivated and hardworking.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good digital literacy.
  • Knowledge of the RTM system is an asset.
