We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making and ensure the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trade or project accounting and a proven track record of leadership in a similar role.

Salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Analyze financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Manage the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets for projects and operational expenses. Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors to ensure timely completion of audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements. Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management to facilitate decision-making and achieve business objectives. Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional designation such as CPA or CA is required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, cost accounting, and project financial management. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft GP is an asset. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
