Location:

YMCA Ecole Dickensfield Child Care (Out of School Care)

Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Contract Duration:

This is a full-time temporary role covering a 12-month maternity leave starting on July 1, 2024, with a potential extension.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum, incorporating programs like Playing to Learn, FLIGHT, and A Place to Connect.
  • Provide guidance to children during conflicts using positive techniques.
  • Respectfully engage with families while considering their values and backgrounds.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with families through daily verbal and written communication.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies and Child Protection Procedures.
  • Participate in all necessary professional development and training sessions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment following designated procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Level 1, 2, or 3 Child Care Certification (or working towards one).
  • Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C certification.
  • Ability to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector verification.
