Addiction Education Coordinator

Full-Time Support Staff – Contract to March 31, 2026

Nipissing University is committed to the mental and emotional wellbeing of all students. Emotional wellbeing allows students to participate fully in the university community and persist towards their academic goals. As a member of the Student Development Team, the Addiction Education Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of peer support services for Nipissing University students. The Addiction Education Coordinator will oversee health promotion and education activities for students regarding substance use and addiction.

The Addiction Education Coordinator will complete an Addictions Needs Assessment of Post Secondary Students across both institutions, a detailed understanding of the addiction care needs of students would be fostered. They will also be responsible for the creation of an engaging, evidence-based educational campaign for post-secondary students, to be disseminated provincially.

The hours of work may occasionally include evening or weekend work depending on the needs of the department. The Addiction Education Coordinator will be notified in advance of any changes to the regularly scheduled shifts as outlined in Article 22.02 of the collective agreement.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Public Health Promotion (preferred) with one to three years related experience in health promotion, addictions sector, or marketing. Degrees in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields may also be applicable.
