Full Time, Permanent - Tactical Security Patrol Guard

8 hours, 12 hours Continental Days, Nights, and Rotation Schedule

40 to 44 hours per week

$20.40 per hour

Qualifications:

Valid Ontario Security Guard License:

Must have an educational background in Police Foundations, Criminology, Justice Studies and other related public safety educational background

Physical Demands:
Long period walking, standing for 8 to 12 hours:

  • Previous Security Guard experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent Customer Service and aboveaverage computer skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate high attention to detail/observational awareness
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

Working Conditions

Parking is not available at the site:

  • Required to work, if necessary, various rotating shifts on short notice and be available for work in a 24x7x365 environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
  • Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with
  • Obtain statements and collect information for Incident
  • Logging in/out of Key, Radio, and pager audits
  • Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
  • Report any unsafe working conditions in any/all departments
  • Ability to deescalate a crisis situation, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedic resources.
  • Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner so as not to create panic among the onsite public
  • Respond to all emergency response needs such as providing first aid, missing persons, etc.
  • Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.
  • Other duties as outlined by management
