The Opportunity:


The Automation & Integration Manager is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automation and integration solutions for business processes across the organization.

Leading a small yet needle-moving team, you will consult with business stakeholders, IT peers, and technology integration partners to understand the current state of the processes, analyze the opportunities and deliver end-to-end future state solutions that enhance our users workdays by removing repetitive tasks and smartly automating from the back-end where possible.


The role will be responsible for design, development and implementation of automations and integrations that are robust, reliable, and scalable to support Challenger's digital journey by working with Managed Integration Partners & developing internally to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.


The individual will coordinate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects and solutions that align with the vision, meet customer needs, and are delivered in a consistently high-quality standard.

Using a customer centric approach, the Automation & Integration Manager will look to leverage Design thinking and Agile methodologies to assist in corporate strategic project management.


Key Accountabilities:
Process Improvement & Implementation of Automations – 45%

  • Work with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to design, develop, deliver, and maintain RPA solutions to automate identified business processes prioritizing the execution of initiatives to align with company vision.
  • Use design thinking methodologies to identify, analyze and document current business processes.
  • Apply Lean improvement methodologies to all initiatives, always place emphasis on the problem, not the solution.
  • Manage the creation of action plans and technical solutions to implement automated/streamlined processes and technical product solutions designed to increase operational efficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Leverage Low-Code Applications like UiPath and Power Platform coupled with SQL to provide technical solutions to endusers throughout the company.
  • Steer citizen developers and business partners to ensure consistent and reliable scripts and service through the Center of Excellence governance.
  • Ensure all automations are compliant with security directives and policies.
  • Participate in technical discussions and develop strategies to solve technical challenges.
  • Research new technologies bringing process efficiencies and economic value to the business.
API and EDI Data Integrations – 30%

  • Coordinate EDI and API integrations between vendors, customers by using 3rd party Managed Partners for cloudbased applications integrations.
  • Develop and oversee Blocklybased Automations in our Customer and Carrier Portal
  • Develop API Integrations using Blocklybased workflow
  • Troubleshoot and Root Cause challenging TMS related issues using SQL Server to understand store procedures and help enable the BI and Development Team members as needed on complex issues
  • Understand and oversee customer score cards to ensure required thresholds are met by providing timely and quality data for Integration and process scores
Project Management – 20%

  • Manage staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
  • Oversees the coordination and prioritization of support tickets using Jira and projects detailed in Deadline Management Smartsheet.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of specific projects, ranging from strategic planning initiatives to tactical activities.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and forums in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into corporate strategic project plans.
  • Define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members.
  • Facilitate discussions on requirement prioritizations, at the minimum following the Moscow prioritization (musthave, shouldhave, couldhave and wonthave) to provide the right focus on the right set of requirements
  • Be involved in the generation, review/refinement, and maintenance of project estimates, ensuring that assumptions and dependencies are clearly identified
  • Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and upward reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure projects are completed ontime.
Continuous innovation and skill development - 5%

  • Lead the training and digital analytics IQ enhancements for the organization in the following areas:
  • Automation (UiPath, Power Automate)
  • Process Mining
  • Project management
  • Change management.
  • SQL & Data Management
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • University or Community College education in Tech relevant major
  • 810 years of related IT experience
  • 5+ years in SQL Development and working in Test and Production SQL Server required
  • RPA, UiPath, PowerAutomate Certifications considered highly valuable
  • Experience with various programming languages and technologies including VB.NET, C#, Synergize, UiPath, Power Automate, Postman & Swagger
  • Experience in Transportation or Supply chain is strong asset.
  • Project Management certifications may be an asset.
  • Strong analytical, decisionmaking and project management skills
  • Detail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multitask in a busy environment to meet competing deadlines.
  • Creative and effective problemsolving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff to explain technical concepts and theories to nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to converse and collaborate with multiple departments spanning multiple disciplines
  • Desire for continuous learning on new technologies
  • Proactive attitude and takes initiative
  • Have a natural technical curiosity and enjoy learning about new technologies.
  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills
