Production Designer – TecE Applications Team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for carrying out design from concept through client review to completion.
  • Prepare calculations, CAD drawings, and details that meet strict quality standards.
  • Incorporate mechanical systems or illustrations for concepts or client coordination.
  • Read and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and equipment data sheets.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, customers, and other members of the team to understand drawings and specifications requirements and scope.
  • Conduct project field reviews with an agile and adaptable attitude.
  • Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast with products and services, industry standards and codes, technical tools required for the job, and advancing technologies within the field.
  • Prioritize built-in quality by ensuring that every design detail meets our highest standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate robust quality control measures, guaranteeing exceptional design accuracy, product performance, and reliability from the outset.
  • Focus on integrating safety into both the manufacturing process and product use.
  • Ensure all designs meet rigorous safety standards, minimizing risks and enhancing user protection throughout the product lifecycle in collaboration with senior designers.
  • Embrace a 'work smarter' mentality actively seeking performance and efficiency improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience servicing the construction market with a focus on mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of drafting and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor/SolidWorks, Revit).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, etc.
  • Ability to leverage artistic skills to create concept sketches for customer illustration.
  • Previous experience working with drawings and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision in engineering design.
  • Highly organized with a strong desire to maximize personal efficiency.
  • A natural self-starter who takes initiative to further learning.
  • Basic programming of macros, python and similar, is an asset.
  • Future focused on innovative tools and technology, is an asset.
