Your Opportunity:

This position reports to and is accountable to the Director of North Zone Pharmacy Services and can be situated in any North Zone AHS acute care facility. As a member of Zonal Operations in Pharmacy Services, this position will provide support for clinical and operational teams in Pharmacy Services, AHS prescribers and nursing staff in North Zone in support of Connect Care and other Pharmacy Services technologies based on their expert knowledge, including: service and solution management, leadership, and monitoring and evaluating pharmacy/medication related system effectiveness. This position must work independently with little direction or supervision and has a large breadth of responsibilities, such as: being the initial point of issue or workflow intake, consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders, developing clear business requirements and collaborating on solution recommendations to applicable decision-making bodies. This role will collaborate with pharmacy site operations, Pharmacy Informatics team, Willow Application Teams and Clinical Programs. Key areas of work include creating operational efficiencies, aligning with provincial standardization with processes, and data management that ultimately result in enhanced patient care. Ongoing report analysis to assess processes to gain efficiencies will also be required.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

One to three years of AHS pharmacy experience including project lead experience.Operational understanding of the North Zone Pharmacy Sites.Knowledge of medication distribution processes, workflows, clinical care processes and technologies.Demonstration of informal leadership experience required, formal leadership experience an asset.Ability to extrapolate knowledge and apply a zonal view based on experience in different pharmacy settings.IT systems understanding advance understanding of EPIC and its capabilities.Strong analytical skills to decompose and understand future state processes and their impacts, risks, understand systems and how they relate to each other, etc.Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.Strong organizational skills including comfort in leading meetings, presenting ideas and gaining approvals.
