This facility accommodates patients who no longer require hospital care, but who need healthcare support until they transition to another location in the community.


Cooks will be responsible for the following aspects of the patient meal experience:

  • Receiving and stocking food, supplies, and inventory
  • Cold preparation of foods (such as sandwiches, salads, etc)
  • Assembling plates of ordered food and maintaining proper plate stock in the cooler
  • Preparation of hot food items
  • Preparing/warming meals
  • Prepping meal trays for delivery and ensuring all meals meet patients' dietary requirements prior to delivery
  • At times, assisting in delivering meals to patient rooms (ie: when short staffed)
  • Collecting trays and dishes post meals
  • Washing dishes and post meal prep clean up

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy work load
  • Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required
  • Good customer service orientation with previously demonstrated customer service experience
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written; ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent problem solving and basic math skills
  • Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food considered an asset
  • Must have Current Food Safety Level 1 Certification

Completion of Pre-Placement Immunization Form Or Copy of Lab Result
