Responsibilities:

Reconciles General Ledger (GL) accounts related to capital projects. Monitors, analyzes, and prepares the monthly GL entries for project activity and contribution accounts. Oversees the capital project accounts receivable process. Monitors, analyzes, and prepares accruals and recoveries related to various cost sharing programs and agreements. Maintains and monitors enterprise fixed assets sub-system to ensure the accuracy of transactions affecting fixed assets. Analyzes enterprise work in progress completion schedules and prepares budgets and forecasts for enterprise depreciation. Performs variance analysis for budget versus actuals activity and year-over-year activity. Maintains working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and project managers.

Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting or Finance, plus an accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA).

EXPERIENCE:


Requires two (2) years previous experience in a range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliation in a large, computerized accounting environment, preferably related to project management or construction, utilizing computerized accounting and spreadsheet software, and with responsibility for investigating and resolving discrepancies, organizing own work, and processing a large amount of detailed data.

Requires a further period of up to one (1) year in the job to become proficient with TransLink and Engineering & Project Services policies and procedures, as well as the various project and financial systems and software.

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation:

Hybrid

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay:

Salary $5,963 - $7,160 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
