As a Front Load Garbage Truck Driver, you are responsible for ensuring safe operation of a truck, while driving, loading/unloading.

The driver drives to customer location for pick up, and hoists bin onto truck to empty contents using a hydraulic lift.

The driver proceeds to subsequent customers until the truck has a full load, and then dumps the load at a transfer station before continuing customer pickups.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safe operation of vehicles
  • Daily inspection of Trucks and accurate completion of related paperwork
  • Excellent Customer Service

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Class 3 driver's license (Newly licensed drivers welcome to apply)
  • Clean CVOR and Abstract
  • Front Load Driving experience an asset
  • Equipment Operation (i.e., Forklift) experience an asset.
  • 23 years of Class 3 driving experience preferred.

Duties:

  • Training for and operation of Frontend, Roll-Off, or Side-Load waste and recycling collection equipment as a fulltime operator, training on equipment is provided.
  • Coordination with fellow operators and employees within other departments to ensure maximum efficiency in daily operations.
  • Container and equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as requested.
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Class 3A license required (1A preferred) with clear abstract.
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area.
  • Minimum 3 years driving experience
- short haul/city experience preferred.

  • Hydraulic equipment experience, and/or farm background an asset.
  • Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised.
  • Excellent logístical and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
