Irving Shipbuilding:

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Finance Co-op Student for the Summer 2024 Term to work with our Finance Team. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas in Finance, including full cycle financial accounting and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Currently enrolled in a 4year degree program from the following areas:
  • Business
  • Commerce
  • Strong academic performance and a desire to excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis in MS Excel
  • Team player with a cando attitude
  • Strong communicator
  • Curious, with a process improvement mindset
  • Long term career interest in Finance and/or Analytics
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing standard journal entries
  • Reconciliation of GL accounts
  • Compilation of various financial reports
  • Use of latest tools and technologies to complete data analysis and visualizations
  • Professional development and mentorship opportunities
