Position Overview:

The University of Niagara Falls is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate Registrar. The Associate Registrar will play a crucial role in supporting the Office of the Registrar in overseeing various aspects of policy development, curriculum management, student records and academic administration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our diverse student body and academic community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate student records, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of registration procedures, including course scheduling, enrolment management, and degree audits.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to coordinate course offerings, resolve scheduling conflicts, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff on matters related to registration, academic policies, and graduation requirements.
  • Oversee the processing of transcript requests, academic petitions, and other student-related documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the university's student information system (SIS), ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Assist in the coordination of academic events, such as graduation ceremonies, orientation programs, and academic advising sessions.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the Office of the Registrar and across campus.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in higher education, particularly in the areas of student services and academic administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the University Registrar or other senior administrators.

The successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in academic records management, registration services, or university administration.
  • Previous experience leading and motivating teams while ensuring daily operational goals are met
  • Previous experience in progressively responsible roles within the office of the registrar of a university or large accredited college
  • Strong understanding of student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulations (e.g., FERPA) and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
