The DevOps Engineer II supports the development of software products, processes and supporting systems. In this role, the DevOps Engineer II will collaborate with an expert professional to accomplish development objectives and oversee software releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain build pipelines to automate the integration and delivery processes for our software applications. Deployment Strategy: Design, implement, and manage deployment of our software on the customer portal, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Blocker Removal: Collaborate closely with software development teams to identify and remove bottlenecks and obstacles in the deployment and release processes, thereby increasing development efficiency. Scripting and Automation: Leverage Python and other scripting languages to automate tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance the efficiency of our deployment processes. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to identify and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and system failures in real-time. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of deployment processes, best practices, and standard operating procedures for the DevOps team. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve a seamless integration of DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study with 2 years of experience, or MS with no experience Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer for large software. Proficiency in MS Azure Pipeline and/or GitHub. Strong programming and scripting skills, with a focus on Python. Proven practical experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with GNU make. Experience debugging complex multistage builds using advanced GNU Make features ideal. Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment. Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team. Knowledge of C, C++, or FORTRAN is a plus. Knowledge of cmake is a plus. Knowledge of Windows and Linux ABI a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Fluent English, both written and spoken.
