We are looking for a strong intermediate to senior Project Manager - Civil Engineer to join our team and help us grow our team and offices in Vancouver, Kelowna and Calgary with a possibility for Fort St John.

CIVIL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engineering technical calculations, project costs, project schedules, drawings, and reports in accordance with specifications, standards, drawings, and codes.
  • Coordination with the design engineering team, project managers and contractors to provide required inputs and propose solutions to the project.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  • Attending meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and the project management team.
  • Works with the project team to resolve technical concerns during all project phases.
  • Assist with preparing templates and checklists (in MS Word and MS Excel) for project delivery.
  • Track project commitments (e.g., purchase orders, contracts, etc.), invoices and chargebacks in the standard financial tracking tool as they are issued or received.
  • Front end business development with contacts and proposals.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Project Management and leadership in a professional and organized manner for total project effort including project schedule development; participation in construction planning and design; resolution of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.
  • Ensure Project Management activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall project schedule
  • Interface with all engineering departments/disciplines as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems
  • Project Initiation and upfront planning activities to establish clear project requirements and goals throughout the execution, monitoring and closeout.
  • Schedule management, cost management for the project
  • Stakeholder management
  • Meeting facilitation with all project stakeholders
  • Managing WBS, CBS and project cost reporting (Earned Value Management)
  • Interfacing with Clients for proactive dialogue/management around cost, schedule, scope, and issue resolution

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with EGBC and/or APEGA.
  • Experience in water, sanitary, and earthwork
  • 8-15 years of experience in a Civil Engineering role
  • Experience with EPCM project delivery preferred

SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers and clients proactively
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position - Software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit, MS Project and Excel.
  • Superior project management and leadership skills

This role could be either contractor or employee hourly and the range is $65-100/Hour depending on job specific experience, years of total work experience and education.

We are a hybrid work environment that supports flexibility. This role can be located in any of our 3 offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary or a possibility of Fort St John.
