Position Overview

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at the engaging Workshop XR team in Autodesk, you will play a crucial role as the first line of defense, performance expert, system architect, capacity planner, and monitoring specialist. Success in this position requires a keen interest in learning new technologies and a knack for solving intricate problems.

You will be reporting to a Software Engineering Manager.

This role is open for individuals residing in the US or Canada, offering remote opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Design and expand hosting solutions for dynamic SaaS web applications
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code to deploy across global application environments
  • Establish and maintain standards, processes, and best practices while documenting them
  • Utilize modern administration tools like Docker, Terraform, and AWS CloudFormation/CDK for effective management and deployment
  • Lead a distributed DevOps team, collaborate with software developers and QA to ensure quality control during product development
  • Automate processes and introduce innovative workflows as necessary
  • Engage with stakeholders to comprehend requirements, use cases, and construct a cohesive technical strategy
  • Participate in production support and on-call rotation
  • Demonstrate ownership and drive initiatives fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux Administration, monitoring, reliability, and security of cloud-based high-traffic services
  • Over 5 years managing large-scale cloud-based production infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency in AWS technologies like EC2, ECS, Lambda, ELB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, VPC, Dynamo DB, RDS, etc.
  • Expertise in Docker and other container technologies
  • Strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, Bash, etc.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative team player
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably in Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Observability and Monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Splunk, New Relic, Grafana
  • Proficiency in Go and JavaScript is advantageous
  • Experience with NOSQL and RDBMS databases
  • Interest in XR technologies

For roles based in the U.S., the starting base salary typically ranges between $110,300 and $190,300, varying based on the candidate's expertise and location.
