As an
Analytical Scientist for our Specialty Chemicals Electronic Material business, you will support several of our product development teams as well as be responsible for the metrology roadmap and analytical method development for the product area.

You will also be responsible for accurate chemical analysis on raw materials, in process samples and finished products according to written procedures and also calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instruments and housekeeping.

To support the 24/7 operations of the production facility, this position may require overtime and performing occasionally afternoon shifts and rotation-based weekend work.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Test and analyze R&D samples, manufactured materials, incoming material and inprocess samples in a timely manner
  • Develop & document ICPMS methods that drive for continuous improvement of existing testing methods
  • Perform material characterizations using analytical instruments, ICP-MS, and occasional tests using other techniques such as GC, HPLC, GC-MS, NMR and IC
  • Test and develop new ICPMS analytical methods for internal and external customers
  • Use proper controls for ICPMS LTS, validate and verify methods/data and take corrective action when necessary
  • Maintain instrumentation and perform procedures for product testing purposes
  • Manage ICPMS and clean room supplies and monitor health of clean room and Ultra-Pure DIwater system quality
  • Interpret and document all ICPMS test results, calculations and observations and complete report summaries as per established SOP
  • Dispose waste samples & solvents based on procedure and orders chemicals or laboratory supplies, as needed
  • Use product and testing expertise to collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes in product development and quality problems
  • Respond to customers' feedback on technical problems and improve product value as well as customer satisfaction
  • Solve customers' quality complaints and provide solutions to their technical issues
  • Participate in technology exchanges with customers by visiting and teleconferencing
  • Promote Entegris' image by participating in conferences and seminars
  • Continuous training on various analytical techniques and methods

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Science or Ph.
D. in chemistry with 4+ years of experience, mainly in ICP-MS analysis, is preferred; Bachelor of Science in chemistry acceptable with 7+ years of experience mainly in ICP-MS analysis

  • Experience working with Agilent ICPMS 8900 and PerkinElmer 350S is highly desired
  • Intensive experience in trace metal analysis and validation using ICP-MS and its maintenance/troubleshooting is a must
  • Must have hands on experience with sample preparation techniques, digestions for ICPMS analysis and have hands on experience with complex matrices and oxygen/moisture sensitive chemicals
  • Must be willing to work with potentially hazardous chemistries using industry standard safety protocols
  • Experience with Semiconductor analytical method development requirements strongly preferred (protocols for determining instrument/method detection limits, accuracy, linearity, precision, robustness, and Gage R&R)
  • Intimate knowledge of instrument software controls to eliminate manual manipulation of data strongly preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office required; must be proficient in excel
  • JMP and Minitab statistical software experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in a chemical/ gas manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with applicable quality tools such as chart trend analysis, SQC/SPC, process mapping, design of experiments and CAPA preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning and teaching
  • Selfstarting leader with excellent communication, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Must be responsible for more than one project at a time
  • Ability to operate in a global environment
  • Ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams
  • Willingness and ability to deliver results within a very short time period
