The Textile Accessory Technician, Development Department will be responsible for working with the Textile Accessory Development team to create and produce a wide and varied range of products to meet the specific needs of our vehicles.

The developer will create the necessary documents for têxtile product development, create prototypes and actively participate in the analysis of the viability of the products within the framework of specific requirements.


In this position, the developer will be reporting to project managers and will be in charge of the follow-up of our product development and will be a key liaison with our various collaborators (designer, suppliers and manufacturers).

They will also be responsible for ensuring that the following are met:
manufacturing deadlines, quality and delivery of samples and finished products.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
Design the patterns needed to manufacture samples.

Create the necessary markers for cutting and consumption calculations.

Manufacture and assemble prototypes.

Inspect and monitor the various samples in the development process.

Create Tech Packs and various technical documents required to communicate on product developments.

Participate in the development of new têxtile materials.

Provide support for the research and development of new têxtiles.

Participate in the development of new manufacturing processes

Provide ongoing technical support to the various stakeholders involved in the development of têxtile products.

Communicate clearly and effectively with the employees working on the project.

Estimate budgets and calculate product costs.

Ensure that schedules and deadlines are met.

Ensure the smooth running of product development and the various iteration phases.

Ensure the smooth operations and quality products.

Create assembly lines and classifications.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Technical college diploma in Fashion Design and/or

College certificate in Technical Clothing Design and/or

Diploma of vocational studies in Pattern Design and/or

Diploma of vocational studies in Clothing Design and/or

Training in industrial sewing and/or

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in developing related soft goods. (Handbag, backpack, luggage, footwear, sportswear, technical clothing, boat canvas and other soft goods intended for the transport industry, upholstery, etc.)

REQUIRED SOFTWARE SKILLS
Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Adobe Illustrator (intermediate level)

Adobe Photoshop (basic knowledge)


Solid knowledge of pattern and marker design software (PAD system and/or Lectra and/or Gerber, Optitex and or any other related software).

Asset - basic understanding of 3D design software such as Solid Works, Rhino, Inventor or Catia

YOUR SKILLS
Solid knowledge of soft goods mechanics.

Solid knowledge of soft goods manufacturing processes.

Good knowledge of têxtiles and their manufacturing processes.


Ability to sew and assemble samples of various soft goods such as: backpacks, luggage, footwear, sportswear, technical clothing, boat canvas, canvas and other soft goods intended for the transport industry, upholstery and furnishings, etc.)



Ability to support the research and development of new têxtiles, follow-up with laboratories.

Strong organizational skills / ability to work on simultaneous projects and to manage tight deadlines.

Strong interpersonal (emotional/relational intelligence) and teamwork skills.

Excellent French (written and oral) and English (written) communication skills.

Be autonomous, and demonstrate attention to detail and ability to plan the daily schedule.

Conscientious and committed to quality work.
