How will you contribute to the team?

  • Initial project planning including scope clarification and execution planning.
  • Preparation of proposal submissions.
  • Accountable for quality of design teams work.
  • Prepare all technical documentation required for the execution of the project, including, but not limited to:
  • Technical studies
  • Design basis
  • Conceptual designs
  • Detailed designs
  • Technical specifications
  • Field work
  • Tender Phase services
  • Construction Phase Services
  • Record drawings
  • Health and safety of the team
  • Develop H&S plans for projects, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and legislation, including occupational health and safety, WHMIS and hazardous substances programs.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer with 10 years' experience in project management and industrial / intuitional facilities buildings design, degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to obtain public works security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Halifax is preferred location (for access to security documents).
  • Project Management Accreditation (PMP) an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices and the flow of design in project management.
  • Knowledge of all project management functions, including design, contracts, procurement of services, and project accounting.
  • A distinct results orientation combined with outstanding communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict resolution and multiple complex project.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient with standard computer tool set to develop projects with general understanding of building design process.
  • Working with large design teams is an asset.
  • Understanding of change management process with good interpersonal skills.
  • Work within financial constraints and understanding of project financial workings.
  • Experience performing risk analysis, preparing contracts, purchase orders.
  • Ability to travel within Canada as required.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety.
