Job Description
Mission
We are seeking an engineer to join our team in Halifax, NS, focusing on substation and power line structure projects. Our expansion in the Energy sector, coupled with our esteemed reputation, presents an appealing opportunity for professionals looking to enhance their technical expertise within a team that supports growth and advancement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage specific project components related to substation and power line structures under the guidance of project managers
- Handle file management, including planning and administrative tasks
- Ensure quality control of project-related practices
- Conduct studies, prepare technical reports, and draft specifications
- Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians and designers on assigned projects
- Visit project sites and contribute to construction site oversight when necessary
- Participate in crafting service proposals
- Over time, the individual may take on client relationship management responsibilities and transition into a project management role with mentorship
- University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design, particularly steel and concrete structures
- Registered member of a Professional Engineering Association in Canada
- Interest and proficiency in developing 3D design and modeling skills utilizing various software programs like SolidWorks, Revit, and Civil 3D
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach and adept at team collaboration
- Proficient in English communication, with French proficiency considered an asset
- Experience in substation or line structure design is advantageous
- Familiarity with structural analysis software such as SAFI or S-Frame is beneficial
- Knowledge of the PLS software suite (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER)
- Background in project management and site supervision is a plus
