Job Description

Mission

Assisting CIMA+'s engineering and project teams, the ideal candidate will oversee a team of around 60 professionals stationed across various CIMA+ offices in Quebec. The Senior Director will lead the teams responsible for studies, engineering, and project execution in the structural and infrastructure domains serving clients in the Energy and Resources field. Bringing at least 15 years of industry or engineering experience, the appointee will play a crucial role in driving business achievements. Additionally, they will spearhead team mobilization for project execution and delivery of major cross-functional projects (primarily involving mining, metals, manufacturing, pulp and paper, and biofuels), while enhancing expertise growth within their sector. This role presents prospects for progression, ownership participation in the organization, and significant autonomy over resource management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead teams throughout Quebec in implementing projects across multiple assignments or large-scale ventures.
  • Supervise, mentor, and cultivate a team of directors. Contribute to building a competent team capable of fulfilling its objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and prioritized project delivery and production.
  • Establish management and communication strategies that support change management, skills enhancement, dedication, talent retention, and diversity.
  • Manage project efficiency and profitability. Oversee the progress and status of all projects and take charge of key strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure proper allocation of responsibilities and implement control mechanisms to ensure effectiveness, budget, and deadline adherence while upholding quality benchmarks.
  • Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations among staff operating at client sites.
  • Foster a culture of accountability. Rally teams towards achieving set goals.
  • Analyze and determine present and future requirements concerning deliverable production aligned with growth targets, deadlines, and expenses: recruitment, training, equipment, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil and/or structural engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years' pertinent experience
  • Background in a heavy industrial setting
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in both French and English is indispensable for effective interaction with our diverse stakeholder community, ensuring transparent communication and successful completion of our various national projects
  • Project and team management proficiencies
