Part-time direct support staff to join our team and grow in a job that matters.

Position Summary (not limited to);

  • Commit to and demonstrate the Mission and Vision of Choices Association in all manners.
  • Finding valued roles for people supported within their home and community life through active and respectful participation.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal care, assistance with household tasks, medication administration.
  • Adhere to and implement Behavior Support Plans and strategies.
  • Participate in all aspects of running a household/program.
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry guidelines and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete all administrative duties and other tasks as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Postsecondary education in Social Sciences such as DSW, SSW, CSW, MSW or related fields.
  • Experience with developmental and physical disabilities, medical and behavioral support.
  • Excellent communication, organization and social skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to take initiative and work independently to set goals and priorities outlined by the supported member and their circle.
  • Committed to providing personcentered care in a genuine way that is meaningful to the supported member.
  • Ability and comfort to plan, prioritize, organize tasks and work with limited direct daytoday supervision
  • Understanding of behavioral support plans and escalation Continuums
  • Computer skills
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset.

Bona Fide Requirements:

  • The ability to engage in all aspects of Safe Management and Medication documentation/administration and achieve and maintain an acceptable passing mark in mandatory testing
  • First Aid/CPR Certified
  • The ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions based on policies and procedures and Choices Service Principles
  • A valid Driver's License, clean driving record, reliable vehicle and insurable under the Agency Policies
  • Proof of COVID19 Vaccinations through approved QR Code
